The Story of the Silver Pug

And so it was...on a birthday of mine. Septembre de once. 11 - not the best day to have a bday but whatever. i'm sitting in the ol apartment and i hear cat on the phone asking dog like questions. turns out she's inquiring about pugs at a breeder near madison. next thing you know yours truly is on his way home with a certified AKC paper carrying Pug..."it's a show dog"....you bet. he's awesome. he's super shy and it takes a while for him to warm up to you..but once he does...it's a great thing. never had a dog before and i'm very thankful to gato for the best birthday present of my life. dogs are a good thing. so here's a few photos and videos of Mowgai Alien Baby Molter. And yes...that is his show dog name.

When we went to pick him out there were two pugs in the pen...mogwai and another puppy. At first, I picked the other puppy up. He was a more traditional Fawn color...lighter and tanner than Mogwai. Then we looked at Mogwai and looked at the wrinkles on his forehead and we both agreed that he was the one.

Here's a link to Mogwai's First Time in the snow. You can tell he's happy when his tail is curled up - when he's not having a good time that thing is uncurled. It's the Pug Barometer.

So. I always knew Mogwai looked a little different from other pugs. When we went toPug Fest after Cats graduation he stood out from all the rest. Here are a few photos from Pug Fest! Mogwai always looked a little different from the other pugs. I thought...for a moment that i had the reject pug. hahahaha. just kidding. turns out - mogwai is a silver pug...not the traditional fawn or black pug. While walking to the Bayview farmers market a guy blurted at us..."is that a silver pug?" "iuhno" i responded ..."that's a silver pug" he stated. "okay"....i said..and walked on....like a cool hombre....when i got home i checked it out and...sure enough.....he's a silverish pug....i dunno - here's a link.

so that's the story of Mogwai Alien Baby Molter. My best friend in the world helped me pick him out...and he's a knucklehead just like us. I couldn't be happier with our quirky little family. it does alright.

till next time...

let the adventures of cloudy sky days begin....

mogwai is my puppy - well. not so much a puppy - he's three years old and he's a silver pug. A rare breed - thought not to exist - but I'll get to that later. He and I are good buddies. But there's one person I'm better friends with. That's mi gato. Gato is my super pal and we like eating cereal together. We drink together, we laugh together. That's my soul buddy.....just is - She's my feisty little lady from L.A.....keeps my punk self in line....This right here is about our adventures with each other on cloudy days. There might be a few sunny days mixed in there - but really...i like cloudy days. Gato says she prefers cloudy days too. "Sometimes it's too sunny" she says. I couldn't agree more.

We got the book "Weird Wisconsin" and we decided to go visit some of the weird parts of this stupid state that we live in. Sorry -I'll get to why this state is stupid later. I don't mean the people are stupid, or that the state is stupid. I just mean that ....well, wisconsin takes itself just a little too seriously. Trust me. USA would get along just fine if Wisconsin fell off the map. *audible gasp from the central Midwest*---that was a tangent and i didn't mean any of it. except for the wisconsin weird part. the book i mean.

So. The first adventure was to Aztalan State Park. (these highlighted names are clickable links...) It was a windy...windy day...we stood, over the plain, atop the burial mound....hair blowing in the....wait. No.No, it wasn't our first adventure. Scratch that. Our first adventure was to the dreaded Forrest Home Cemetery.

wait wait wait. before all of that was our Hiawatha Train Accidental Experience. Sounds like a Hendrix side project. We were looking for something to do and decided to head down to the Racine County Fair. We piled in the car, headed south on I-43....311 on the radio, it was a good day. Weather was pretty nice. When we got off the interstate and took a few country roads as we headed towards the city of Racine....thinking that was where the Racine County Fair would be. On the way we were traveling along side the rail road and kept seeing all these people standing along the rails...seemed kind of weird...so we stopped and decided to ask someone. Here are a few videos and photos. So this guy in the video parked his car where i was standing....while i was standing there. I'm a good citizen so i moved to where the video starts. I guess his wife noticed me taking notice. trains make people do strange things.

So this is why i love gato so much. just a random thing, in the middle of nowhere and we're having fun. such a good thing. so we're all waiting on the tracks...doo bop bop....and "here comes the train"...alright...finally, i mean we've been waiting a while...so check out the video of the historic hiawatha train...history in motion...beauty and a beast....you get the idea...check the video of it.....

you're right....that wasn't the hiawatha...that was a freight train. i was pissed too. what the hell? so we had a few more too...freight trains, amtrack trains, but no hiawatha....after about an hour of waiting the Hiawatha came through....and my batteries died. it's the way it works sometimes.

so that was that - i'll post about some of our other adventures pretty soon.
